Sustainability
For households and businesses with limited amounts of small batteries, you can search for a location to drop-off your used batteries at Find a B-cycle Drop-off location. You can search by postcode and battery type including:
- Batteries from consumer electronics (e.g. digital cameras)
- Button batteries
- E-Bike batteries
- Handheld small consumer batteries
- Power tool batteries
For business-to-business and large batteries, you can search for commercial battery recyclers through the Australian Battery Recycling Initiative website.

Used battery safety
Safe disposal of used batteries is critical to protect you, workers in the waste industry and the environment. Please contact an ABIA member to discuss how you can safely dispose of your battery.
Fire agencies publish advice and tips on preventing and minimising risks from fires. This is an example from Fire and Resuse NSW on battery and charging safety.
