Battery Stewardship

ABIA Members are committed to the recycling of all used lead acid batteries (ULAB). The Australian ULAB scheme has been in existance for many years and has resulted in the recycling of more than 95% of ULAB.

This is not neccesarily so for batteries of other chemistries, in particular those used in electronic equipment and tools. The Battery Stewardship Council has been set up in Australia in order to manage the recycling of all non lead acid batteries so that the damage to the environment can cease.
